I have a bunch of different titles, but I think the most important thing about me is how much I love my hometown of Kansas City. You can’t possibly get to know me and not figure that out. 

I am a former White House Staffer, attorney and realtor who loves to make things happen for people.  Whether I am assisting a first time home-buyer with the road to home ownership or helping you downsize and sell your family home, I will get the job done.

Lawrence Douglas Bernabe Jr. was born in New Jersey but has lived in and called Kansas City his home since 1996. He attended Rockhurst University and graduated with a Marketing degree. Stacy and LD married in 2013 and have three children – Frances Marianna (Fifi), Lawrence Douglas III (Louie), and Anthony Porto (Tony) Bernabe. Selling real estate comes naturally to LD - his patience, honesty and friendly personality automatically puts people at ease. Tommy provides home buyers and sellers throughout Kansas City (and Lawrence) with a customer service experience rooted in honesty, integrity, and determination. As a Lawrence native, he has witnessed the amazing transformations that have made Kansas City one of the most attractive places to live. Tommy attended Grinnell College where he earned a B.A. in Chemistry and played tennis. He then received his Master’s Degree from KU. Outside of real estate, Tommy enjoys travel, playing sports and is on the board of LFO Jazz – a music nonprofit organization.

We sold and bought a house with Stacy Porto as our realtor. Although we swear we are never moving again, if we did, we would choose Stacy again without hesitation. Stacy and her team committed a lot of time and energy to maximizing our first weekend on the market, and we sold our house above  asking price that weekend. Stacy also helped us to navigate purchasing the absolutely perfect house for us and it’s a joy to be commending her from the deck of our dreams. Stacy is a hard worker and has developed a team that helps her to get everything done that she promises. She shared her expertise with us in both staging our house and negotiating our purchase; as we observed other houses open for showing, we realized quickly that “not everyone has a Stacy in their corner!” We ran into some hiccups with closing conflicting with our scheduled move, and Stacy found a closing company at the last minute who agreed to come to our home at no charge. She is connected and always looking for the best resources for her clients. We initially chose her because we saw her working hard for someone else previously and her track record showed a strong number of sales in our area. If you choose her as your agent, you’ll benefit from these things, but what you won’t know until the end is that she makes your move just a bit easier with nice little touches like a welcome gift at your new home and bringing in resources to make your move smoother.
